It's been said many times before, but not everyone has money to just throw around on everything that announced, especially considering how little information they gave us about what we'd get from it. And what about the people who were completely unable to buy from the online store.
Seems to me, like the majority of you guys against it, just don't want others to be able to play with your new toys.

I fully expected new weapons. It just made sense to me. I didn't think they'd all be customized to my character though, but that's all good. I did expect a lot of new skins (by a lot, I meant at least one new skin for each profession).
Other than people who just started playing the day after the promotion, or kids who's parents won't get it for them, if people can buy this from the ingame store now (now that they see the screenshots of the weapons), why couldn't they just do it before, during the four months the promotion was announced? They rolled the dice and didn't like the results, it happens. Now they want to vilify Anet. Eh.

This is a mission pack. It's a piece of the storyline.
There are 4 NPCs in the cities offering quests and quest rewards.
And all this in-game content is permanently unaccessible to a large part of the playerbase.
For the very 1st time, A.net has created a separation in the playerbase, those who can access some content and those who will never see it.

Agreed. This turn in the way Arenanet does business (whether some think it is good or bad) is what kills lots of online multiplayer games. I don't need to mention names, but it's pretty obvious for those who have played them. This is a turn for the worst and is an incredible backstab to the people who supported Arenanet throughout the years but didn't have the opportunity to buy in the in-game store.
Not only that, but something that makes me mad is the fact that this mission pack has countless amounts of new skinned items, restricted to the people who could buy online. Eye of the North, for the most part, had recycled skins and models for almost every single weapon in the game - including the end game greens. Knowing these skins are restricted makes the backstabbing feel even worse. Whoever said something about the new skins being the reason for the negativity is in part right, but like I said, after dealing with re-skins for both armor and the majority of weapons in GWEN, a game we all paid for, this is a bit of a disappointment.
I know this, at least for now, has made me reconsider purchasing GW2.

Agreed, and I add that with this decision, A.net has made come to the surface the worst part of the "community".
We all know that a good part of the playerbase is made of 5 years old brained idiots, who are just looking forward every occasion to show their idiocy.
A.net gave them the best occasion of all.

Thats a really good point. And in the end even if you get it as a perk for buying 3 char slots youre still paying for it. Why does this have to be a huge deal? Just offer it later under similar guide lines or thru some other means. Those that jumped on the first offer will get the first fruits and the rest will be left drooling until the 2nd chance comes but at least everyone will be happier.
And honestly Id like to see rare minis offered to players seeing as its ending soon anyway. They dont need to be bought either, make them attainable by way of rediculously hard mission for all I care. At least it would keep people playing and more likely to stay interested long enough for the sequal to come out :-)

/not signed thats the whole point of a promotion. to get people to buy on the on-line store it would upset too many people if ANET decided to sell it seperatly. some people followed directions to get the promotion. some people didnt and now decide to cry about it. it was available for 4 months long enough to save up $30 and get someone to use a CC for you if you dont have one.

I for one believe that the scope of the BMP was really illusioned on content to the public in the end...
We all knew it was going to be special historical missions...
Some of us may have known it was going to have included items... (I didn't)
Did anyone expect all new items for each mission and even book
items that work across various account characters? (I didn't)
I don't think anyone expected that the BMP would be as awesome (as to
include ALOT more than just 4 "missions").... which was all new weapons
and not just reskins (like GWEN is mostly)
So the people who did miss the promo are sad... but all the people at Guru here that are Negative Nancies.. you guys should really stand up and have some better life skills...
Be upset that not everyone was able to get it via the store promo...
Support your fellow GW players in their opinions to attempt to get the BMP for promo some how for us that missed it...
Stop the gloat greed and hatin... In real life are you guys the people that steal candy away from toddlers and throw it in the dirt while you eat yours?
Seriously...
Don't be hatin...

and how exactly did you not have the opportunity to use the in game store. The promotion was advertised many several months before the period began and the period lasted months itself. As for the payment in the online store itself, you can buy pre-paid credit cards for cash and use them.
If people had really wanted to get the bmp there were many many ways of getting it. What was an appathetic view by many towards the bmp has now turned into jealously because of what it offers.
Quite pathetic, but to be honest expected.

Or there are those like me who were unable to purchase it from the online store not because of a lack of credit cards or funds. I tried multiple times buying eotn from the online store and got error codes each time. I didn't really care about the BMP (still don't), I just didn't feel like driving to the store. What bothers me is the effort that was put into these bonus weapon skins compared to the level of effort put into what we were given in eotn.

Jealousy, plain and simple

Sacrifices, investment ... LOL.
Wasting money for something you don't need, just to come here and boasting your "special" achievements, is stupidity, plain and simple.

I agree that the Bonus mission pack should be available seperately, but for a slightly diferent reason to most. I myself have spent a fair amount of money in the anet in game store as I personally have found in more suitable to buy campaigns from there than in actual videogame stores. However, I am over 18 and have access to relevent credit cards etc.
A lot of people in game do not have access to credit or debit cards, and due to various reasons several people are hesitant to utilise their credit cards over the internet. Seeing as paypal is not as of yet an accepted form of payment in the in game store I feel that it is only fair that areanet give others the oppertunity to purchase the bonus mission pack by an alternative means, provided it is finantially viable for them to do so; bearing in mind that in all likelyhood the cost of such an upgrade will be minimal. If they can organise this then I feel the additional profit that may be generated by this would be a welcome "Bonus" for Areanet themselves, perhapts the profits generated by bonus pack sales could be put into a nice little christmas bonus package for Anets employee's as a thankyou for all the hard work that has clearly gone into the missions themselves.
so conditionally

Anet should sell them 10$ each right now, to make extra cash. People who already own BMP can't stop/complain about it.

Well I can accept this because the only things you see in the BMP are the skins, and this confirms my opinion about some posters like you.
Too bad that A.net gave you and others like you the possibility to reveal and express such full potential of stupidity.

At the end of the day, all ANET cares about is money. If they can't see how many people would buy this BMP seperately, they're fools.

Did you try contacting Support about the error codes you received, or maybe your bank/card company? If so, what was the final solution?
As for the bmp skins compared to the eotn skins, I can understand that, having both. However, which skin looks better still varies from person to person. But sometimes things look good simply because you can't have it.

Look, obviously Anet doesn't give a crap about these types of threads. Can you people just shut up now? You won't listen to reasons and you are being stubborn. Well let see, that gets you NOWHERE IN LIFE. Now shut up and /close.

I bought EOTN through online store specifically because Anet said there would be no other way to get the BMP. For them to change that now would be extremely disingenuous.

Or sometimes, those skins really do look good because ANET decided to put more work into weapon skins (and by the sounds of it, the BMP in general) for only part of the playerbase - as appose to putting proper work into GW:EN which was available to everyone.
EDIT: to above poster.. why would this change effect you? You wouldn't have paid extra money for it (if they set a reasonable price for it separately) and you still have the BMP you ordered. Quit being so selfish and grow up.
